The October meeting of the FPC will take place on Thursday, October 9th at 7 PM. As is usual, we will hold the meeting in person at the Frasier Retirement Community Theater at 350 Ponca Place in Boulder and via Zoom.
Linda Donaho (https://www.lindadonaho.com/), a talented nature photographer, will be giving a presentation on composition. Based in Dallas, Linda will be joining us via Zoom. Linda kindly sent over some details about herself and what she’ll be presenting at our meeting:
I studied photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara with a focus on portraiture. I spent 9 years in the fashion industry in NYC, representing top fashion photographers, stylists, and hair and makeup artists.
I moved to Dallas and went into business with family photography on the side. During the pandemic, I focused more on nature photography. I sell my work through my website and fine art festivals.
My favorite topic to share is about composition. Composition can make or break a photograph – and it’s not about rule of thirds. I discuss landscape, flower, and some animal work. I overview my simple post production processes to achieve my photographic vision. You can see my work on my website lindadonaho.com. I’m @lindadonaho on IG and FB.
Following Linda’s presentation, she will provide a critique of the images submitted by members for the October meeting.
As is usual, member images can be submitted in the Nature, Open, Special Effect categories and in October’s Special Topic of “Shadow Play”. See https://flatironsphotoclub.org/monthly-members-competition for details on submissions.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting or via Zoom.
